Batman and Superman are obvious, Bale and Routh. Flash is Ryan Reynolds. I’ve been hearing a lot of Aquaman being Daniel Craig, and it’s beginning to sound convincing. He could add that royal sophistication, and give the character some dignity he lost. Wonder Woman, Morena Baccarin sounds, and looks like a good candidate. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is my favorite character, so he should be in any JLA film, and (I don’t know why) but it feels like he should be the wise older one. But, if they want multiracial cast, then John Stuart should be played by someone fairly unknown. Tyrese Gibson does the same roles over and over; I don’t think he can pull off an accurate portrayal of Stuart. Martian Manhunter, I’m not so sure that him being CG would be a good idea, but it does seem it’s the only option they have.

Hi! I totally Agree with you on these unhappy choices.
Here is my dream cast for the JLA,let's see what you think:
Green Lantern (Kyle Rainer): Milo Ventimiglia
Flash (Wally West) :Ryan Rainolds
Superman: Tom Welling
Batman: Christian Bale
Aquaman: Alan Ritchson
Cyborg: Lee Thompson Young

I say Kate Beckingsale as Wonderwoman
Ryan Reynolds as the Wally West flash
I think Daniel Craig could make a good aquaman
Shemar Moore could be the green lantern (John Stewart)
I dont know about superman or martian manhunter. For whatever reason, if Lex Luthor is in the JL movie, I think it should be the ROCK ( a random choice), but I hear that they are getting Bruce Willis (i dont see it!)
I hate the reports that they r looking for really young actors to grow into their roles...we dont want a friggin teenage superhero flick...personally it sounds lame to me

to be truthfull, I would watch a teen titans or legion of superheroes movie, but thats just not what they are making, also I stand by my choice of Catherine Bell for WW, shes not terribly well known which I think would help. They could go with a young cast without going as young as they are thinking and still make a good move though
What about(and these arent my top picks for the roles, just my top picks for if I had to choose young folks):
emile hirsch as batman(that kids got chops)
ben foster as the flash or he could work as the green arrow too
tom welling as supes
shia labeouf as green lantern
megan fox as WW(thats a maybe shes just the best i can think of right now)
CG manhunter could still be anyone voice wise but I would choose the animated version voice
Im thinking shawn ashmore as aquaman could be good so long as people can moove away from x-men.
what do you think of them? again not my faves but they could be an ok young cast

I like the idea of Ben Foster as Green Arrow... Surely not the flash at all!
If you want a young flash why not the Bart Allen Impulse from Smallville?

Ok, first things first...let's plan this knowing what we know: Bale, Routh, and Biel are all OUT. They're plain not doing the flick...we're over it. Secondly, let's not get caught up in trying to fill all of the roles with actors or actresses who are fresh in your mind from the movie that you just went and saw (i.e. Shia Lebouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, etc.). There WILL be a Transformers 2!!! Think of it in sports terms: all-star teams are NEVER the best "teams." The best "teams" are those that are composed of one or two superstars, surrounded by role players. There is only one ball (only so much screen time), and there has to be enough to go around. Xmen did this well...one A-lister (Halle Berry...Hugh Jackman was not an "A" lister at the time...he has since become one, arguably), surrounded by familiar faces who fit roles well (James Mardsen, Famke Jannsen, etc.). That being said, here's my lineup:

Batman - Michael Keaton
Why in the HELL isn't anyone considering this?!?! If I hear one more Ryan Gosling or the like rumor, I may have to boycott the movie all-together. Let's face it: Bale IS Batman, but we're not getting him for this movie. So, go back to your roots (hell, even bring back the Batmobile from the first & second Batman movie!) & bring back the elder statesman of the group (as actors AND for the lineup of heroes). He blew us all away the first time, pulling off a role that no one but himself and Tim Burton thought he was fit for, and MADE Batman! BRING HIM BACK!

Superman - Brandon Molale
You may be wondering, "Who?" He's the musclehead from "Dodgeball." Look at the link below & you'll recognize him. His name (along with The Rock) has been thrown around for the Shazam role, and the degrees of separation between Superman and Shazam are minimal---both boyscouts, both same physique. Molale has the square jaw of the comic book and animated JLA / Superman (as opposed to the Christoper Reeves-esque Brandon Routh version), so that really achieves what I think this movie is seeking to accomplish---authenticity.

Wonder Woman - Priyanka Chopra
"Who in the hell!?!?" I asked the same thing. Before you read any further, look at the link below. I KNOW!!! SHE'S PERFECT!!! The Bollywood Beauty was rumored to be filling the tights (ahh, mental picture...) in Josh Whedon's movie (before that got canned), and she's PERFECT for the role. It would accomplish two other nice additions to the movie: 1) interesting sub-story: Bollywood to Hollywood---has it been done before??? and 2) adds to the diversity of the film, always a plus. Face it...Megan Fox, no matter how nice she may be to look at, is NOT Wonder Woman, ya'll.

Flash - Ryan Reynolds
It's a simple equation: actor wants movie + actor fits part + actor has proven ability to play similar role = natural fit, give him the gig. He's proven he can pull off the comic book genre ("Blade III"). He's kicked ass in other roles ("Smoking Aces"). Most importantly for this role, he's made a living off of being a smartass ("Van Wilder"). I mean really...he's practically LOBBIED for the role when so many hollywood big hitters have been steering clear of the project...give it to the guy who isn't pulling a Ben Affleck ("Daredevil was the lowpoint of my career"...uh, Ben, remember "Jersey Girl"???) and is doing a flick just 'cause it'd be FUN and he's passionate about the part! BACKUP PLAN: Dane Cook?

Green Lantern - Common
Honestly, I didn't know who this guy was until I saw a pic and put a name with a face. Guys, if you haven't seen it, watch "Smoking Aces." The movie pretty much sucks, but there's some excellent action in it, and Common plays a total bad ass in the flick. Plus, really, look at his pic and TELL ME that's not Jon Stewart!!! He'll bring to the lineup a little of that "edginess" that the film will need to avoid being too "kiddie" and a little bit of attitude to boot.

Aquaman - Gerard Butler
The Scottish badass from 300 has already MORE than proven his ability to pull of a comic book royal on the big screen. It's an easy sell...regal, physique has been achieved before, no-nonsense Arthur-eque attitude. Think about it...Leonidas with gills...it works!!! BACKUP PLAN: Jason Statham

Martian Manhunter - Doug Jones
NO CGI!!! There will be enough of that with this flick...last thing we need is another CGI overdose (see: Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith). Jones has made a career of playing eccentric alien intellects with a unintentional sense of humor (Silver Surfer, Abe Sapien). Work with me here: beef him up, shave his head, add some make up to accentuate already prominent facial features, paint him green = Jonn!!! He's done this, guys...just another incranation of his already succesful depictions...

In EVERY incarnation of the JLA there's been a Hawk___. In "Superfriends" it was Hawkman...in the recent Justice League & Justice League Unlimited it was Hawkgirl. Why not again? I guess it'd make sense to add Hawkgirl (to add another female, but also to add a substory between she and GL). So....

Hawkgirl - Isla Fisher
You'll remember her from "Wedding Crashers"...red head, athletic physique, doesn't take orders very well, definitely sexy = Hawkgirl. I think they'd definitely have to go with the beak-less version (as they did in JL Unlimited) rather than the initial JL animated version...think Isla Fisher with "angel" wings. Nice, huh? :)

jeez...i wish hawkgirl was in this movie...she kicks ass....i love the original 7 of JLU

I like the Brandon Molale choice...I'm sick of this Tom welling crap...I think Superman( as well as Batman, GL and aquaman) should have a little more maturity about them...i personally dont want some lame teenage heartrob (no offense)

I feel the need to point out that those arent my top choices for the roles, I was just saying if they were gonna go youn they could do better than what they were. I like all your choice except for wonder woman, Im unwilling to bend on catherine bell, ever since I saw my first ep. of jag I've thought she was perfect

No, I follow you...and I'm totally with you. I guess I should rephrase my comments...

I'm afraid that the studio may fall into that. In posting, I was acting as if "we" are the studio, sitting around the board room table, putting back a few, and brainstorming. I'm PRAYING that Warner Bros doesn't say, "ok...who's hot, who's not...who would look cute in spandex and mom's & dad's everywhere will say, 'aww...look...it's Shia Lebouf as Superman!' " Don't get me wrong...I like many of the younger names being thrown around as having read for the roles, but they're just not "right."

Catherine Bell would absolutely be a nice fit as well...don't think you can go wrong either way. Also, I agree...Tom Welling? No thanks. He's great for Smallville...just (again) doesn't work here.

I'm curious...did you guys look at the links to pics? Can you imagine all of them in costume on a movie poster & do they fit the parts? When I was throwing it all together, I was thinking, "okay...we've got the scene with all hell breaking loose in downtown Gotham or Metropolis...who, when people look up at the screen, is going to blow people's minds fighting side by side?" Did they make sense?

(This is fun...wish someone would let US do the casting!!!)

I like the Emile Hirsch as batman thing..cuz yea no Christain Bale.
of Course Ryan Reynolds as Flash I didnt put that in my thing...I jus figured its a given. A john stewart/Green Lantern is important cuz he is the most recognizable right now. A hal jordan approach would have general audiences goin.."hey why is Green Lantern white all of a sudden lol, and for that I like don cheadle. I like the chick from wedding crasher as Hawkgirl like whoever that was said...but i dont like hawkgirl for a movie. I also think aquaman should be leftout..unless his skill really help the story, other wise he will be like Robin in the 2 batman movies b4 begins....usless and alil gay..... I think a teen titans movie would be better right now...Shia labouf as robin would be dope lol
